TERP Module
A bus service run the way one is actually run — a timetable that becomes real departures, a seat that can only be sold once, and fares that become income when the bus goes.
A schedule is a pattern; a trip is a fact. The weekly timetable you type in becomes dated departures, each freezing its own bus, seat count and calling times — so editing a route in September cannot rewrite the boarding time printed on an August ticket. The seat itself is decided by the database, not by a screen: two clerks, or a clerk and somebody on your website, cannot both get 12A, and the loser is told which seat went before anything is written. Money is held as an advance until the bus departs, because a ticket for next Friday is money you are holding and have not earned — the departure moves it into income in one balanced voucher, splitting out what agents must remit and what they keep. Fares are dated, append-only rows, so an old ticket keeps the price it was sold at, and two rules of +10% make +20% rather than +21% so an owner can check a fare on paper. Cash taken at the door is tracked as money the conductor is holding, not money in the office, until he hands it over and the count is agreed.
Key features
See it in action
The 05:30 to Jaffna is a schedule; pressing Generate turns it into a departure on every date you sell, each with its bus and seat map already fixed.
A passenger books online and pays by card; a clerk sells three more at the counter; an agent in Kurunegala sells two on account. Nobody can take a seat somebody else has.
At the door the conductor scans tickets in on his phone; the money he takes there is tracked as his to hand over, not as cash in the office.
The bus is marked away: the fares become income, the agent is debited what he must remit, his commission is booked as a cost, and the run is cashed up against the counted notes that night.
Try it yourself
Load sample data first from Bus Booking -> Data Tools — it builds a Colombo–Jaffna route with five stops, two seat plans, two buses, fares for every leg and a fortnight of departures, so you can sell a seat straight away at Bus Booking -> Counter. The public booking site and the crew app are created but stay switched off until you publish the site under Bus Booking -> Website and give a conductor a PIN under Bus Booking -> Crew.
