A filling station run the way one is actually run — shifts that open and close on meter readings, tanks reconciled against a dip, and prices that are approved rather than typed.
The meter is the source of truth for litres; the till is the source of truth for who and how. Fuel Station reads litres off the pumps at shift close and posts the day there, once — while forecourt slips record who bought the fuel, how they paid and who served them, and are then checked against the meters so fuel that left a pump with nobody writing it down is a number on the screen. Fuel is ordinary Inventory stock and a tank is a placement layer over it, so tank litres and book litres are the same litres counted twice and must always agree. Prices are dated, approved, append-only rows, so an old sale keeps the price it was sold at. Credit customers get per-vehicle daily caps that catch a driver filling his own car — the thing a credit limit cannot see. And a dip that disagrees with the books is recorded, never quietly corrected, because a month of tidy corrections hides a leak.

The morning cashier opens a shift: the opening meters come from where last night left them, and the tanks are dipped.
Cars are served at the forecourt — litres or a thousand rupees of petrol, cash, card, or a company account with a daily cap.
A tanker arrives; the dip before and after decides what the tank gained, while the supplier is billed for what they invoiced.
At handover the closing meters and dips go in. The day posts once from the pumps, the drawer is short or it is not, and the tank difference is written down for the trend rather than tidied away.
